The Technical Pipeline

Cinema 4D: The foundation for high-fidelity poly-modeling, intricate texture-mapping, and scene assembly.

Houdini: Utilized for high-fidelity knitting simulations and complex physics-based fire simulations.

Redshift: Our primary rendering engine for calculating physically accurate light paths, shadows, and high-octane reflections.

After Effects: Utilized for final cinematic motion graphics, dynamic typography, and high-energy optical flares.

Visual Breakdown

  • The Textile Study: A macro exploration of fabric density, showing the intricate weave of the fleece under controlled studio lighting.

  • motion Physics: High-fidelity captures of the hoodie’s movement, demonstrating the natural drape and weight of the garment in motion.

  • Thermal Aura: A stylized look at the "warmth" of the material, using lighting to emphasize the soft, tactile quality of the fibers through "macro-lens" shots. "macro-lens" shots.

Project Notes

The Fleece Hoodie project is a masterclass in digital textile simulation. Our objective was to elevate a functional garment into a high-fashion study by treating the fleece fibers as high-fidelity sculpture. Utilizing Houdini’s procedural solvers, we simulated the complex knitting patterns and physics-based interactions that give the fabric its authentic weight and drape. The final aesthetic challenge was balancing the soft, light-absorbing qualities of the fleece against the cinematic depth of the scene—a feat achieved through the power of Cinema 4D and the physically accurate light calculations of Redshift.
