The Technical Pipeline
Cinema 4D: The foundation for high-fidelity poly-modeling of the aerodynamic grooves, intricate texture-mapping, and scene assembly.
Houdini: Utilized for complex fluid dynamics (the molten gold sequence) and high-fidelity particle impact simulations
Redshift: Our primary rendering engine for calculating physically accurate light paths, extreme-contrast laser interactions, and high-octane reflections.
After Effects: Utilized for final cinematic motion graphics, dynamic typography, and high-energy optical flares.
Visual Breakdown
The Aerodynamic Study : A macro exploration of the ball's surface texture, utilizing a sweeping laser matrix to highlight the engineering of the synthetic leather.
Fluid Material Dynamics : High-fidelity captures of molten gold flowing across the geometric panels, demonstrating advanced physical rendering and material transitions.
Kinetic Impact: Extreme slow-motion sequences showcasing the physics of a strike—capturing the exact moment of material compression, airborne particle displacement, and high-velocity net tension
Project Notes
The Nike Flight project is a masterclass in dynamic sports visualization. Our objective was to elevate technical performance equipment into a cinematic spectacle by treating the ball's aerodynamic surface as a high-fidelity canvas. Utilizing Houdini’s procedural solvers, we choreographed complex fluid and particle simulations to visualize the raw, kinetic energy of a strike. The final aesthetic challenge was balancing the aggressive, high-contrast glow of the laser environments against the hyper-realistic, tactile details of the ball itself—a feat achieved through the power of Cinema 4D and the physically accurate light calculations of Redshift.
